
David G. Owens is the Founder and President of Owens Strategy Group. He was recently Executive Vice President, Global Strategy & Business Development for Kraft Foods, the largest branded food and beverage company in North America, and was formerly Vice President and on the Board of Directors of The Boston Consulting Group, a leading global management consulting firm.
While at Kraft, Dave was instrumental in executing the $19 billion acquisition of Nabisco Foods, which was named Strategic Deal of the Year (2000) by M&A Magazine. He also led the acquisitions of Boca Foods, Balance Bar, Back to Nature and Veryfine/Fruit2O, as well as the Starbucks, Tazo and South Beach Diet trademark license deals. Dave also played a key role in preparing and selling the 2001 Initial Public Offering of more than $8 billion of Kraft stock.
Dave has more than 20 years experience consulting on strategy and brand licensing projects for Fortune 500 clients including: Avery Dennison, ACH Food Companies, Accenture, Ahold / Stop & Shop, Deloitte & Touche, Ethyl Corporation, FMC Corporation, General Electric, Hartmarx Corporation, H.J. Heinz, International Paper, Johnson Controls, Keithley Instruments, KPMG International, Kraft Foods, Marmon Group, McGladrey & Pullen, Noranda Aluminum, Northern Telecom, Siemens AG, Tata USA and US Foodservice.
Dave holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.B.A. with High Distinction from The University of Michigan and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
